New Patients
At a patients first appointment and before any treatment begins a new patient health check will be carried out which consists of a neurovascular assessment, a discussion on the patients medical and medication history, recurrent and current foot health concerns. This is essential to ensure a safe, professional experience for the patient. Following this there will be a discussion with the patient regarding the treatment pathway which will commence at this first appointment. This appointment lasts up to 60 minutes.
Mangement of the 'high risk foot'
For patients with a 'high risk foot' there is increased chance of developing serious complications due to impaired circulation, lack of or altered sensation and increased vulnerability to injury or infection. As a registered nurse I led clinical assessment, treatment and monitoring of patients at risk, particularly those with diabetes, peripheral arterial disease and neuropathy identifying risk factors, early signs of ulceration or infection and implementation of preventative strategies.
Simple Toe Nail Cutting
Usually 20 - 40 minutes including sides cleared, nails cut, nail thickness reduced and basic treatment for ingrown toe nails or curling nails. Following the new patient assessment nail cutting can commence. In Clinic from £35 Home Visit from £45
Cracked Heels
Dry and thickened skin around the rim of the heel is a precurser to the skin cracking resulting in painful fissures which, in a worse case scenario, can bleed and/or result in cellulitis. Following the new patient assessment cracked heel treatment can commence. In Clinic from £40 Home Visit from £50
Corn & Callus Removal
Corns and callus are areas of hard skin often caused by pressure, this can be from poorly fitted footwear physical activity or gait irregularity. These generally do not improve without treatment or discussion around the cause. Following the new patient assessment corn and callus removal treatment can commence. Verruca Treatment
Verrucae are small warts which appear on the toes or soles of your feet sometimes causing pain and/or discomfort and can be unsightly. There are various treatment pathways available. Fungal Nail Infection (Onychomycosis)
A fungal nail infection is unsightly, often causing discolouration and crumbling and may affect one of more nails, commonly affecting the first toe nail, it may also affect surrounding skin. Fungal nail infection can be very difficult to remedy and may require ongoing treatment for some time. Following the new patient assessment fungal nail treatment can commence. Ingrowing Toe Nails
An ingrown toenail is when the corner of your toenail grows into your skin. It’s a common condition that happens frequently when you cut your toenails by tapering around the corners or wearing tight illfitting footwear. In clinic from £40 Home visit from £50
